As Regional Chief Accountant North-America, you will be the overall responsibility for the accounting, tax, legal and non-raw materials purchasing deliverables in a context where the accounting and tax function are outsourced. Together with the North America FP&A Lead colleague, you will have overall responsibility for all finance related matters for Boortmalt in both Canada and United States of America.

In this role, your tasks will include:

  • Act as the main liaison with external Accountants and ensure quality and timely monthly accounting closes, tax compliance and clean audits
  • Responsible for corporate income tax returns and other fiscal filings in liaison with external tax consultants
  • Liaison with tax authorities, including tax audits
  • Maintaining a good relationship with company auditors
  • Liaise with the external company secretary and tax advisors when required
  • Monthly cash flow and working capital forecast
  • In charge of ad hoc accounting analyses
  • Contribute to group financial processes improvements and maintain controls integrity
  • Property, insurance and legal matters with the support of external advisors when required
  • Be the contact person of the Group Indirect Purchasing Manager for related initiatives in the region
  • Be the liaison with the banks to support the European headquarter based treasury team if needed


The person we are looking for has the following profile:

  • Master’s degree in finance or equivalent in experience
  • 10 years of experience as qualified accountant or in a similar position
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Affinity with Oracle’s JD Edwards or equivalent systems are considered an asset
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French would be considered a plus
