For a growing international Biotech company in Oss that focuses on cell therapy and is ready for industrial scale up, we are currently looking for an experienced Development Specialist. The purpose of the role is to work in process development projects in developing cell production processes and their base operation steps according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). The role entails a broad range of duties and the specific areas of focus will be dependent on the skills and experience of the person holding the role. The Development Specialist will work closely together with Development Engineers and Scientist and Project Managers of development projects.


In this role, you and your team ensure that scaling up and testing is done to bring the product to the next phase.

In addition, you are responsible for the following:

  • Write experimental plans and protocols
  • Perform experiments following specific protocols
  • Take ownership of projects and being aware of the deliverables, timelines
  • Being aware of the training requirements and actively communicate with the team and line manager
  • Analyse results and write reports
  • Write, review and revise quality documents (Work Instructions, Work Sheets, SOPs)
  • Prepare presentation for internal and external meetings
  • Lab duties
  • From time-to-time the Development Manager may add other research or development projects


We are looking for someone with the following profile:

  • Completed education in Biology or Biotechnology
  • 2-5 years of proven experience in laboratory and analytical methods Biotechnology
  • Interest and experience in laboratory equipment
  • Being able to plan and work independently
  • Ability to bring tasks to results efficiently
  • Ability to analyse and contextualise scientific data
  • Interest in conducting laboratory experiments in large volumes
  • Passion to translate scientific ideas into a procedure for manufacturing a cell therapy product


The organisation can offer you the following:

  • A base salary between € 3,000 – € 4,000 per month based on experience
  • After a successful time, there is a chance of a permanent contract
  • Pension premium contribution
  • Travel allowance or reimbursement for public transport
  • 25 vacation days
