For the healthcare site of a global supplier to the medical devices industry, we are currently looking for an Engineering and Innovation Director for the newly established leadership team. Their materials and products for the medical and pharmaceutical industry are used for dialysis, sterile packaging for infusions and cell cultures or bioprocess applications. They are committed to improving the quality of life for many people, and bringing innovation to global healthcare. Worldwide they employ around 4000 employees, with more than 200 employees at the Dutch location.

As part of the site leadership team, you will be dedicated to bringing a new lean and innovative culture to their healthcare site, and you will play an essential role in this mission. You will be working with a team of around fifteen engineers, project managers, and product developers.

Function

As Engineering and Innovation Director, you will be taking part in an exciting journey towards a new culture and transformation on the healthcare site. You are the leader that inspires, leads, and brings positive energy to your team and colleagues. On the other hand, you are down to earth, open minded, and easy to approach. You have passion for what you do, take pride in it, and enjoy every moment of it.

Next to that, the company will be engaged in building a brand new production facility next to the existing factory, and they will be counting on your expertise and vision. You will be responsible for building the fundament and implementing a long term strategy on technology, research and development, robotisation and automation. Together with their innovation centre, you will also be engaged in bringing new products and innovations to the market from concept to full scale manufacturing.

Requirements

We are ideally looking for a candidate with the following profile:

Education to university level (e.g. Bachelor or Master) in a technical degree. Otherwise, may hold a relevant professional qualification
Proven leadership track record of five years or more in the high tech or life science industry, preferably healthcare/medical related
Strong experience with new product introductions, robotisation, R&D and automation
Strong experience within the process engineering/manufacturing industry
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and implement innovation from concept to full scale manufacturing
Proven track record in change management and bringing a new culture to an organisation from top to bottom
Good understanding of Lean and/or Coveys methodology and how to inspire colleagues
Down to earth and open minded personality
Proactive, pragmatic, hands-on, and efficient way of working
Fluency in Dutch and English
