For an international, research-driven, full-scaled clinical contract research organisation (CRO) we are in need of a new Laboratory Manager. The organisation is focused on Phase I-IV clinical development within biotech, pharma, and medical devices. They have a clear mission to elevate the global development of safe and effective treatments through high-end research operations. Areas of expertise include oncology, cardiology, neurology, and more interesting and meaningful fields of health. Currently, the organisation is more than 2,500 employees rich across 35 countries.

Function

As a Laboratory Manager, you will be positioned between the Laboratory Director and the Laboratory Supervisors, while working together with HR regarding personnel matters such as performance reviews and new hirings. You will oversee clinical laboratory testing, evaluate results, delegate, and organise the completion of projects. The development and maintenance of safety procedures, new laboratory policies, and procedures will be part of your responsibilities as well as implementing changes to work processes accordingly. You will resolve procedural and equipment issues together with the Laboratory Director, while quality assurance related subjects will be solely part of your role as Laboratory Manager across multiple projects at major clients.

Requirements

What we would like to see in a candidate is:

  • A bachelor degree in a health field
  • Around five years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory
  • Superior time management skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, laboratory theory, and pre-analytical variables
  • Experience with the operations, testing, and services of the area(s) supervised, including setting up, reading and releasing test results, and troubleshooting equipment
  • Extensive laboratory skills and experience
