For a leading organisation that is on a mission to bring tasty, safe, sustainable cultured meat to the world, we are looking for a Lead Bioprocess Engineer. This begins with the iconic French delicacy, foie gras, which they are reinventing at the crossroads of culinary arts and scientific perfection. We are looking for a Lead Bioprocess Engineer in order to orchestrate the scale-up of their avian stem cells production platform to pilot and commercial scale.


Your mission will be to lead the optimisation of the production process of their in-house cell lines and scale up their production from benchtop to pilot scale bioreactors. This will include cell line, media and bioprocess development as well as building, managing and growing the bioprocess team further.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Represent internal teams and collaborate with external partners or industrial teams to conduct and test out new scale up technologies
  • Plan, direct and efficiently manage the production process
  • Provide expertise on production strategy to project teams
  • Get to work in a challenging environment in line with the dawn of a new industry


To be successful in this position, you will bring the following experience:

  • Masters or PhD in bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, cell biology or related discipline
  • At least 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Extensive experience in mammalian/avian cell-line development and characterisation, upstream process development and scale up to large scale bioreactors (100 Liters)
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and DoE
  • Track record in multidisciplinary project management roles
