In their continued efforts regarding the discovery and development of groundbreaking medicines and solutions for severe immune system and CNS diseases, the organisation is looking for a skilled Molecular Biologist with experience in gene therapy. This internationally active company (over 8.000 headcount and active in over 40 counties) is widely known for its scientific excellence and entrepreneurial mindset, resulting in a multitude of running drug development programs. Therefore, they are looking for an Expert Scientist Molecular Biology to strengthen their new Gene Therapy (GT) Department.


As the Molecular Biology Expert, Gene Therapy you will cover a varied and exciting role. You will be working on the support of the Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) manufacturing processes and products with the aim of providing treatment to unmet medical needs through gene therapy. It is also your responsibility to identify and implement high throughput analytical tools that support the release and stability of multiple therapeutic gene therapy programs throughout clinical phases (from phase 1 readiness to launch). The activities will be performed in respect of the material and premises, in compliance with the regulations such as GMP, HSE, and Biosafety and with the regulatory requirements for each development phase of the product.

In addition to the above mentioned main responsibilities, you will contribute to:

  • Supporting release and stability testing of gene therapy products by developing, validating, coordinating, executing and tech transferring fast, reliable, and QC friendly molecular biology methods
  • Leading assay development, by driving results, and onboarding new technologies with minimal supervision
  • Cross-training on and providing support for upstream/downstream operations, in-process analysis characterisation and vector biology teams
  • Providing high-quality documentation of all technical work performed in the lab in accordance with data integrity requirements
  • Participating in the result analysis and trending, presenting, and discussing results in team meetings and preparing written procedures and instructions


We are looking for a candidate with the following skillsets:

  • A Master or PhD, in a life science area
  • At least two years of industry experience in a GMP regulated setting
  • Knowledge of AAV
  • Understanding of assay development within the biopharmaceuticals
  • Knowledge of statistical tools supporting the development and characterisation of reliable analytical methods
  • The ability to operate the following technologies: Western Blots, Elisa, Gel Electrophoresis, PCR (ideally qPCR) or Flow Cytometry
  • Good knowledge of English, both in written and speech
