For Apeel Sciences, we are looking to hire a Managing Director that can assist Apeel Sciences to enable and lead technical/R&D and commercial expansion into Europe. They are pioneering plant-derived technologies to help fresh food providers improve food quality, reduce waste and ensure an abundant future for our planet.


Apeel Sciences is seeking a Regional Director EU to oversee all operational and administrative aspects of the business in-region, helping them enable and lead technical/R&D and commercial expansion into Europe. This includes managing and providing on-the ground support for every aspect of their newly expanded operation in-region to enable success with the current and future in-region customers and to enable the development and launch of new product and service lines.

You will collaborate with the Corporate Leadership Team and Functional Teams to develop, implement and execute against a successful operations-focused market launch into the European Economic Area (EEA). Establish, enable and manage technical, operational and commercial capabilities in the region in a matrixed structure and develop, implement and manage policies and processes that are in alignment with the company’s vision, mission and values, while simultaneously maintaining cultural relevance. You take on defining and implementing annual budget plans and provide regular status / update reports to Corporate Teams and coordinate and develop all departments and ensure operational and strategic goals are achieved on time and within budget.

This role will be based in the Netherlands and will report to the Vice President of Operations.


  • Alignment with and passion for the company’s vision, mission and core values
  • Entrepreneurial hustle and proven self-starter with an owner’s mentality
  • 10+ years of technical operations management, business administration or related experience
  • Experience in establishing and growing operations, building and developing teams, optimising processes and delivering on business goals
  • Five or more years of people leadership experience
  • Ability to wear multiple hats, thrive and create order in an unstructured environment
  • Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Preferabele broad experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is required
  • Willingness to travel (locally, regionally, internationally) ~ 10–25% of the time


  • A maximum yearly salary of 120.000,- depending on experience
