For a biotech company near Brussels, we are looking for a Scientist Peptide Chemistry. Their technology allows for the discovery of peptide-based drugs, inducing the aggregation of harmful proteins and thus a loss of function. In this position, you will be supporting the development of new drugs in a world with every increasing bacterial resistance.
In this position, you will join the peptide chemistry department. You will be involved in designing and synthesising these specific peptides, but also purifying and formulating them to be used in in-vivo testing. Furthermore, you will be optimising lead molecules through peptide medicinal chemistry and characterise these compounds for physicochemical, solubility and structural properties. This will also require the active coordination with external partners to augment the internal capabilities. However, working in a small biotech company, your activities will not be limited to the ones mentioned above.
