Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across complex, multi-partner research projects. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for both internal stakeholders and external funders. Safeguard compliance with national (e.g., RVO, NGF) and European grant regulations while maintaining strong internal controls, risk management frameworks, and audit readiness. Oversee multi-year budget monitoring and coordinate with consortium partners on financial matters. Work closely with auditors, funding bodies, and internal finance and legal teams to ensure accuracy and accountability. Collaborate with the Head of Finance to optimize reporting, strengthen financial systems, and support strategic planning.

The qualified candidate should possess a strong foundation in financial control, reporting, and compliance within public-private or research-oriented environments, with the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly.

• HBO+ degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; RC qualification is a strong plus
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in both financial control and relevant background in finance, preferably within a public-private, research, or non-profit setting
• Solid understanding of Dutch and EU subsidy frameworks, including financial compliance and reporting
• Strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills, able to translate financial insights for non-financial audiences
• Structured, proactive, and dependable with a hands-on attitude
• Fluent in English (Dutch proficiency is a strong advantage)
