In this role, you will own and continuously improve the planning and scheduling of preventive and corrective maintenance activities, taking responsibility for the overall structure and effectiveness of the process. You will act as the functional lead for maintenance planning, guiding and supporting planner/schedulers across teams through expertise and coordination rather than direct line management. You will develop and manage long-term maintenance plans and annual schedules in close alignment with operations, ensuring that planned activities support production continuity. A key part of the role is coordinating planned downtime with production while maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. You will serve as the first point of escalation for planning, scheduling, and maintenance coordination challenges, drive process improvements and workload balancing across maintenance and utilities, and ensure high standards of documentation, reporting, and traceability within the maintenance systems.

The ideal candidate is a senior maintenance professional with a strong technical foundation who has grown into planning, coordination, and lead-by-example responsibilities. • Technical education at HBO level or equivalent practical experience• Extensive background in maintenance within complex process-industry environments (e.g. life sciences, chemicals, bioprocessing, food, cosmetics, industrial production)• Broad hands-on maintenance experience combined with solid planning, scheduling, or work preparation exposure• Familiar with environments where safety, sterility, compliance, and traceability are non-negotiable• Comfortable leading through expertise and influence rather than formal people management• Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-alignment skills• Fluent in English; Dutch is strongly preferred due to maintenance documentation• Experienced with CMMS systems (e.g. SAP PM) and structured reporting
