Senior Engineer - Powder Process Engineering
QTC recruitment are partnered with a leading global food and beverage business to identify a new Senior Engineer – Powder Process Engineering to serve as the global technical authority for powder manufacturing technologies, supporting Specialized Nutrition and Dairy Ingredients operations worldwide. This is a highly business-critical succession role, replacing a long-standing expert, with responsibility for defining engineering standards, supporting major capital projects, driving manufacturing excellence, and providing technical leadership across approximately 12–14 manufacturing sites globally.

About your role
This is how you will make the difference
- Act as the global Subject Matter Expert (SME) for powder processing technologies, including spray drying, evaporation, mixing, high heat treatment, and blending.
- Develop and maintain global engineering standards, core designs, technical specifications, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership for major CAPEX projects, including FEED, process design reviews, equipment selection, commissioning, and start-up.
- Support manufacturing sites through troubleshooting, process optimization, capacity improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Drive improvements in quality, food safety, energy efficiency, water consumption, and sustainability.
- Evaluate and qualify new technologies, equipment, and suppliers in collaboration with Procurement, R&I, and Quality & Food Safety teams.
- Coach and develop the global engineering community, sharing technical expertise and best practices.
- Influence stakeholders across all levels of the business, translating complex technical topics into practical recommendations for senior leadership.
what's needed
What you bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial process engineering within food manufacturing.
- Deep expertise in spray drying and evaporation technologies, ideally within infant formula or dairy powder manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of powder processing, hygienic design, food safety, thermal processing, and process optimization.
- Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing plants, troubleshooting complex process issues, and leading commissioning or start-up activities.
- Exposure to FEED, CAPEX projects, engineering standards, and equipment qualification.
- Knowledge of ATEX, explosion safety, powder properties, pinch/enthalpy analysis, and filtration technologies (UF/MF/NF) is advantageous.
- Fluent in English.
