This is how you will make the difference

As Lab Technician you will be is responsible for collecting biological samples, studying and conducting tests on biological specimens to support the development of a new diagnostic protocol / system. This role involves working with both established and emerging technologies, including single-cell analysis, microchip platforms, cell sorters, MACS, FACS, NGS, qPCR, ddPCR etc. On a daily basis you will conduct both routine and non-routine laboratory tests and analyses using appropriate technical instruments and equipment to support scientific experiments and investigations. Besides this you will receive, collect, and process biological samples, ensuring proper handling and safe disposal of laboratory waste. You will accurately calculate, log, and report test results using laboratory information systems and computer software. Additionally prepare, set up, and oversee laboratory experiments and perform quality control procedures and calibrate laboratory equipment as needed. You will ensure all equipment is properly maintained and that the laboratory workspace remains clean and organized. You will adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations, consistently practicing safe work habits. Continuously, you will stay up to date with relevant scientific advancements and technologies to improve the efficiency of lab operations. Lastly, you will manage laboratory inventory by ordering and maintaining necessary supplies and resources, all the while maintaining detailed and organized records of all experiments and procedures.

What you bring

You, being the ideal candidate for the role, will recognise yourself in the following:

  • MSc Degree in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology or relevant field;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Pharma/biotech laboratory settings;
  • Proficient in performing both routine and novel laboratory tests, including data analysis, using technical equipment such as FACS, qPCR, MACS, ddPCR and NGS, along with relevant software tools;
  • Experience handling and processing blood samples is really advantageous;
  • Ability to learn and follow specific scientific techniques;
  • Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining technical laboratory equipment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package and FlowJo software;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to write clear reports and correspondence;
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Strong time management skills;
  • Ability to work in a team settings.
